Rajouri, Feb 3: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Jammu and Kashmir for three days to carry out a comprehensive review of the security situation in the Union Territory, BJP organisational secretary Ashok Koul said on Tuesday while speaking to reporters in Rajouri.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of his visit to Rajouri, Ashok Koul said that the Home Minister’s visit is focused primarily on assessing the security scenario and evaluating the measures in place to counter threats in sensitive areas.

Koul pointed out that security agencies have recently detected the establishment of some new terrorist hideouts in the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that terrorists taking shelter in these areas have been involved in certain activities which require close examination and review at the highest level.

Expressing confidence in the ongoing security operations, the BJP leader stated that Jammu and Kashmir is nearing terror free status and will soon be terror free.
