India Post has released the official notification for Gramin Dak Sevak Online Engagement Schedule-I, January 2026. Online applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for engagement to the posts of Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster and Dak Sevak across various postal circles in India.

The online application process for India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 has started and candidates can submit their applications through the GDS Online Engagement Portal till 16 February 2026. Selection will be done purely on merit based on 10th class marks.

Vacancy Details of India Post GDS Recruitment 2026

India Post has announced more than 30000 vacancies for GDS posts. The vacancies are spread across all postal circles of India.

Eligibility Criteria of India Post GDS Vacancies

Selection Process

The selection process for India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 includes merit-based selection on 10th class marks, document verification, medical examination and antecedent verification.

The merit list will be prepared based on percentage of marks obtained in the 10th standard. For grade or CGPA based marksheets, marks will be calculated using a multiplication factor of 9.5.

Salary Details

Gramin Dak Sevaks are paid Time Related Continuity Allowance along with Dearness Allowance.
