Srinagar, Jan 29: At a time when heavy snowfall disrupted daily life and exposed the vulnerabilities of people living in far-flung and backward areas, the efforts of Engineer Nazir Ahmad Yatoo have drawn widespread appreciation from the public.
During the recent spell of snowfall, when normal movement was severely affected and basic services were hit, Engineer Nazir Ahmad was seen on the ground, personally visiting snow-bound localities. Residents said his presence during the difficult days provided not just administrative support but also moral reassurance to affected families.
According to locals, Er Yatoo visited several backward and far-off areas, closely observing ground realities instead of relying only on official reports. He took stock of key issues such as blocked roads, power outages, water scarcity and limited access to medical facilities, which tend to worsen during harsh winter conditions. People said he patiently listened to their concerns and noted their problems in detail.
What stood out, residents said, was that the issues raised during these visits were not left unaddressed. Er Nazir conveyed the problems of the people to the concerned authorities, including the Deputy Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, in a clear and timely manner.
