J&K at crossroads of progress: LG

Jammu, Jan 25: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said Jammu and Kashmir was at the crossroads of progress and exhorted all the citizens to pursue with courage and consistency the new and emerging engines of growth by reinforcing established areas of excellence and creating robust, future-ready infrastructure across J&K.

In his message to the fellow citizens of J&K on the eve of the 77th Republic Day, he asked them to commit themselves to guiding J&K towards greater heights of development and prosperity, with renewed purpose and collective determination.

Sharing his pride, he appreciated the J&K Police by describing them as ìIndiaís true heroesî, for uncovering a nationwide terror network last October- November and preventing several attacks in time.

Exchanging greetings, he said, ìOn the auspicious and momentous occasion of the 77th Republic Day of our beloved nation, I convey my heartfelt greetings and sincere good wishes to every citizen of J&K.î

To mark the occasion, he offered his special commendation to the personnel of the armed forces, paramilitary forces, and the J&K Police.

ìTheir unwavering vigilance, courage, and sacrifice stand as a shield for our people, enabling us to live in an atmosphere of peace, security, and harmony,î the LG said.

Paying tributes to the vision of architects of the Indian Republic, he said, ìI bow in reverence to the visionary architects of our republic, whose exceptional wisdom, courage, and sacrifice won us freedom and gifted us a constitution rooted in the timeless ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. These enduring principles and values uphold our ethos and reinforce the democratic and socialist ideals that define our nation.î

LG Sinha extended his warm salutations to the ìdedicated workers, farmers, doctors, engineers, innovators, entrepreneurs, teachers, students, youth, women, businesspersons, artists, writers, industry leaders and volunteers of civil society.î

ìThrough their steadfast commitment and tireless efforts, they continue to fortify our democracy and drive holistic progress across J&K,î he said.

The LG also expressed his gratitude to all members of the armed forces, Police, paramilitary units, and civil administration who upheld the nationís pride through their duty, dedication, and bravery during ëOperation Sindoorí.

ìFollowing the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, ëOperation Sindoorí emerged as a defining moment in Indiaís national security doctrine. India made it unequivocally clear that any terrorist attack on its soil would be treated as an act of war. ëOperation Sindoorí was not merely a military action; it was a declaration of Indiaís strategic resolve,î he said.

LG Sinha also commended the courage and professionalism displayed by the personnel of the Indian Army, J&K Police, and the CRPF.

ìThrough ëOperation Mahadeví, they eliminated the three Pakistani terrorists involved in the attack and delivered justice for the dignity of our mothers and sisters,î he said.

ìI further appreciate the J&K Police for uncovering a nationwide terror network last October- November and preventing several attacks in time. They are Indiaís true heroes, and I am proud of them,î the LG said.

Exhorting the fellow citizens to take J&K towards greater heights of development and prosperity, he said, ìWe must harness and consolidate our collective strengths to accelerate economic progress with unwavering determination. Our institutions of higher education must prepare themselves for a future driven by constant innovation, technological proficiency, and a dynamic entrepreneurial ethos.î

LG Sinha said, ìLet us set our sights on a leadership role in the knowledge-based economy and in information technology. Let us resolve to ensure that every citizen, especially our youth and women, has fair access to quality education, healthcare, and equal opportunities to fully realise their potential.î

Reiterating his call for working with dedication for a better, peaceful, prosperous, and developed society, he said, ìMay each one of us rise to our responsibilities with sincerity and selflessness, working for the greater good of society. Together, let us reaffirm our steadfast dedication to building a strong, prosperous, and developed India.î
