SRINAGAR: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Thursday chaired a security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi.

The meeting was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of JK, heads of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other senior officials.

During the meeting, Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India remains committed to ensuring lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir and to the complete eradication of terrorism. Reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance policy, he said sustained and coordinated efforts have significantly weakened the terror ecosystem in the Union Territory.

The Home Minister commended the security agencies for their role in strengthening the overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that counter-terrorism operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and funding networks must continue in a focused, mission-mode approach.

Shah directed all security agencies to stay vigilant and maintain close coordination to preserve the security gains achieved since the abrogation of Article 370 and to realise the objective of a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest. He assured that all necessary resources would be provided to support this effort.
