SRINAGAR: Gaurav Singh Nag, a 21-year-old MBBS student from Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir, has been missing in Russia since December 10, prompting his family to seek intervention from the Indian government, The New Indian Express reported.
According to The New Indian Express, Gaurav has been studying MBBS at Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University (NovSU) in Veliky Novgorod alongside his younger sister and had no prior issues during his three years of study.
His mother stated that there has been no trace of him since he left his hostel room in the evening without informing his roommate. The family was alerted to his disappearance the following day when his sister reported him missing. She added that Gaurav had left his identity card, mobile phone, and wallet in the hostel, taking only his bank card.
Both siblings resided in the same hostel complex. Gaurav’s mother has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Ministry of External Affairs to engage with the Russian authorities to help locate her son.
