
Srinagar, Dec 19: The Postgraduate Department of Pharmacology, Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar, organised a guest lecture on “The Application of Preventive Medicine in the Future Digital Era” at the GMC Auditorium.
The programme was organised under the direction of Prof (Dr) Iffat Hassan, Principal and Dean, Government Medical College Srinagar, with emphasis on strengthening academic excellence through technology-enabled teaching, promoting evidence-based preventive medicine, and encouraging the adoption of digital health tools, pharmacovigilance systems, and data-driven clinical decision, making in medical education and healthcare delivery.
The lecture was delivered by Prof (Dr) H S Rehan, Director, Department of Pharmacology, Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi.
He elaborated on the transformative role of digital health technologies in advancing preventive medicine, with particular emphasis on pharmacovigilance systems, real-time adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting, artificial intelligence–driven risk stratification, and big-data analytics for population-based public health surveillance.
