SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday paid tribute to the security personnel who were martyred while defending the nation during the 2001 terrorist attack on Parliament.

In a message shared on X, Sinha said the courage, valour and selfless service of the martyrs would remain a lasting source of inspiration for the country. He recalled their supreme sacrifice and praised their steadfast dedication to upholding India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The tribute was paid on the anniversary of the Parliament attack, commemorating the bravery of the security forces who foiled the terror strike and protected the country’s highest democratic institution.

On December 13, 2001, the Sansad Bhavan or the Indian Parliament complex was attacked by militants affiliated to the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Fourteen people were killed in the attack including the five perpetrators.
