Kupwara: Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range, Maqsood-ul-Zaman, on Thursday chaired a comprehensive Crime Review Meeting at the District Police Office (DPO) Kupwara to assess the district’s law and order scenario and evaluate the progress of ongoing investigations.
The meeting reviewed disposal of crimes, progress in UAPA and NDPS cases, recoveries made, and the status of property attachments under relevant legal provisions. The DIG laid special emphasis on close monitoring of Zero FIRs, timely visits to FSL units, linking of SID records on the e-Sakshya portal, proper use of MedLeaPR, and prompt submission of challans through e-Courts. He also stressed the importance of ensuring timely execution of e-Summons.
Further, the meeting discussed action taken under PIT-NDPS, regulation and monitoring of pharmacies, and intensified surveillance of NDPS-vulnerable hotspots across the district.
The DIG highlighted the need for evidence-based investigations, strengthened supervision by senior officers, and responsive grievance redressal mechanisms. He appreciated the efforts of Kupwara Police in maintaining order and improving the overall quality of investigations.
