Srinagar: Authorities in Kangan have initiated an inquiry after several suspicious looking skulls were found near Nallah Sindh, official sources said on Sunday.
News agency GNS cited sources as saying that police teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving information from locals about the ‘unusual remains’ lying along the riverside. “The recovered skulls and bone fragments were subsequently seized and sent for veterinary and forensic examination to determine their origin and cause of disposal,” sources said.
Confirming it, a police official said that the matter is being thoroughly investigated. “Samples have been taken for expert analysis, and further action will be taken based on the examination report.”
Police have simultaneously begun preliminary questioning in the area to ascertain how the remains reached the site.
