LG Sinha Urges Public to Support Armed Forces on Flag Day | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday urged citizens to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, highlighting the welfare of serving personnel and their families.

The call came on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, an annual observance dedicated to honouring the nation’s soldiers and martyrs. The Lieutenant Governor emphasised the importance of supporting the welfare of military personnel who serve on the frontlines.

In a post on X, the Office of the JK Lieutenant Governor expressed admiration for the Armed Forces, stating: “On Armed Forces Flag Day, I extend heartfelt gratitude to our valiant Armed Forces personnel & martyrs for their supreme sacrifice & service to nation. Let’s donate generously to Armed Forces Flag Day Fund to ensure the welfare & dignity of our brave soldiers and their families.”

The Armed Forces Flag Day Fund collects donations across India to support ex-servicemen, serving personnel, and their families, providing assistance for education, medical care, and rehabilitation. Observed annually on December 7, since 1949, Armed Forces Flag Day honours the soldiers and veterans of India’s armed forces.
