SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two individuals from Uttarakhand’s Haldwani in connection with the deadly Delhi blast on November 10, near Red Fort, which claimed 13 lives and injured 32 others, as part of an intensifying probe into a multi-state terror module.

The arrests, confirmed by NIA sources and reported by Hindustan Times, come amid a widening investigation that has already seen six prior detentions, including four doctors and religious figures from Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh, taken into custody in Srinagar on production orders from Patiala House Court. The Haldwani duo, whose identities remain undisclosed pending formal charges, were allegedly linked to logistics and technical support for the car bomb attack involving ammonium nitrate explosives, drones, and rockets, according to NIA filings cited by Reuters.

Earlier arrests included Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai (Pulwama), Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather (Anantnag), Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay (Shopian), and Dr Shaheen Saeed (Lucknow), all accused of key roles in the conspiracy, alongside Amir Rashid Ali (car owner) and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish (drone modifier). NIA teams conducted raids across Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, recovering over 2,900 kg of IED material and weapons, with interrogations revealing ties to Pakistan-based handlers and plans for Hamas-style strikes.

The agency, handed the case by the Union Home Ministry shortly after the blast—the first major car bombing in Delhi in over a decade—continues to pursue leads on overground workers and inter-state networks, collaborating with state police. A Delhi court recently granted 10-day custody to one suspect, signalling deeper scrutiny of the plot’s execution.
