Jammu, Nov. 22: A junior commissioned officer of the Army died after slipping into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said on Saturday.
The subedar was leading a search operation in the Seri Mastan area of Behramgalla on Friday evening when he lost balance on a steep slope and fell.
Army teams later recovered his body, which has been sent to his hometown for last rites following legal and medical formalities.
