Kupwara: Two wild bears remain trapped inside a defunct water tank in the Dani forest area of Dudhi, Taad Tangdhar, prompting an urgent rescue response from authorities.

Reports reaching Alfaaz – The Words, the animals were discovered inside the unused tank earlier today, sparking concern among residents and forest officials. The circumstances under which the bears fell into the tank are yet to be ascertained.

Police and army teams, along with officials from the Wildlife Department and Forest Protection, immediately reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. Despite several hours of coordinated efforts, the bears continue to remain inside the tank as of the latest reports.

Officials said they are working carefully to ensure the safe extraction of the animals while preventing any harm to them or to the rescuers. Measures have been taken to secure the surrounding area to avoid public movement and ensure safety.

Wildlife teams are reportedly exploring multiple strategies, including tranquilization or the creation of an exit path, depending on the situation on ground.
