SRINAGAR: The process of postal ballot voting commenced on Wednesday at the BDO office in Budgam for the 27-AC constituency, providing eligible voters—particularly employees in essential services who may be unable to attend polling stations on election day—the opportunity to cast their votes.

District Election Officer (DEO) Budgam, Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, emphasised the administration’s commitment to ensuring a free and fair voting process for all eligible voters. He described the postal ballot facility at the BDO office as well-organised and streamlined, facilitating participation and strengthening democratic practice.

“As per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the district administration has worked diligently to assist voters in casting their postal ballots while maintaining the integrity of the system,” Bhat said.

The postal ballot process will continue for three consecutive days, starting from November 5, 2025. District authorities have pledged to maintain efforts to support voters and ensure that every eligible voice is heard.

Employees from all essential service departments were reportedly active and enthusiastic in exercising their right to vote, highlighting the inclusive nature of the electoral process.
