SRINAGAR: All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and MLA Dooru, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, on Wednesday said that their trust has been hurt after the National Conference (NC) offered them only the fourth seat in the seat-sharing arrangement for the Rajya Sabha elections, slated to be held on October 24.
Mir said that the party had sought the first or second seat, which the NC had agreed upon earlier.
However, he said after a week’s time, the decision was changed from the NC’s side and the Congress was offered the fourth seat. “Therefore, after the breach of trust, the party decided not to field its candidate on the fourth seat and allowed the NC to field their own candidate for it as well,” he said.
He also added that discussions will be held for the Rajya Sabha elections in the meetings being conducted at the party headquarters in Srinagar. (KNO)
