The residents of Galizoo and other adjacent areas have expressed strong resentment against authorities for failing to complete the under-construction bridge in their area resulting in hardships to the inhabitants.

They said that the bridge sanctioned seven years ago has been left half way due to reasons best known to the concerned authorities.

The residents said that following repeated pleas to the successive dispensations, the bridge was approved at Galizoo, but after the passage of six years it was yet to be accomplished much to the disappointment of locals.

The residents said that the bridge once completed can ease out the hardships of people. They said that the bridge was sanctioned in 2019. “With the completion of this bridge, it will significantly shorten the distance between several villages and help commuters reach their respective destinations in the shortest possible time,” said a local.

The bridge also leads to the sports ground located at Galizoo and players from Lolab are the worst sufferers as they are forced to take longest route to reach the ground. “Had the bridge been completed players could easily reach the ground,” said a local Wahid Masoodi. The residents said that they went from pillar to post for redressal of their genuine grievance but to no avail. Now they have sought immediate intervention of MLA Kupwara Mir Fayaz in this matter.
