SRINAGAR: In response to the prevailing geopolitical situation impacting global petroleum supply chains, the Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Kashmir has intensified surveillance to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum and LPG across the Valley.

The Directorate has launched a widespread crackdown against hoarding and black marketing, conducting 2,427 inspections across the Kashmir Division since March 19. During these operations, officials detected 14 cases of hoarding and six instances of black marketing.

As part of the enforcement drive, 108 LPG cylinders were seized and penalties amounting to Rs. 40,500 were imposed on violators. Authorities have also directed Oil Marketing Companies to maintain adequate stock levels at all distribution points to ensure smooth and timely delivery of essential fuel supplies.

To enhance public support, dedicated helplines have been established to address grievances and distress calls. Citizens have been urged to report irregularities to the concerned Assistant Directors.

The Directorate reiterated its commitment to protecting consumer interests and ensuring fair and equitable distribution of petroleum products during this critical period.
