10 Women Judicial officers nominated for mega legal awareness programme

The High Court of J&K and Ladakh Monday nominated ten women judicial officers for participation in a mega awareness programme on “Empowering Women and Strengthening Institutional Legal Support.”

The programme would be held on June 20 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Srinagar, according to an order issued by the Registrar General, M K Sharma.

The nominated officers would assist in various capacities during the event. Chairpersons of DLSAs of Kashmir Division have been assigned participation duties, while senior judicial officers, including Anoop Sharma, 2nd Additional District & Sessions Judge, Jammu, and Swati Gupta, Registrar Judicial, Jammu, have also been nominated. Preet Simran Kour, 4th Additional District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar, will serve as the anchor for the programme. 

Moreover, ten women judicial officers from different districts of Kashmir would participate in the awareness initiative aimed at promoting women’s empowerment and enhancing access to institutional legal support.

The  women judicial officers include Masarat Rohi, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Anantnag; Kusum Lata Pandita, Additional District Judge (Bank Cases), Srinagar;  Anjum Ara, 1st Additional District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar;  Mehreen Mushtaq, Principal Judge, Family Court, Srinagar; Fariqa Nazir, Special Mobile Magistrate, Pulwama;  Lubna Sultan, Special Mobile Magistrate, Anantnag; Kamiya Singh Andotra, Special Mobile Magistrate, Srinagar;  Shayesta Nazir, City Munsiff, Srinagar; Bazila Bashir, Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Shopian and Farah Bashir, Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Ganderbal. The programme is expected to bring together judicial officers, legal service institutions and stakeholders to strengthen legal awareness and support mechanisms for women across the region.
