‘Zero Tolerance Towards Activities Detrimental to National Security,’ DGP Prabhat During Shopian Security Review Meet – Alfaaz – The Words

Srinagar: Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu & Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat (IPS) on Wednesday chaired a high-level security review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO) Shopian to assess the security situation and review ongoing anti-terror operations in the district ahead of Republic Day-2026.

The meeting was attended by Special DGP (Coordination) S.J.M. Gillani (IPS), IGP Kashmir Zone V.K. Birdi (IPS), DIG South Kashmir Range Javaid Iqbal Matoo (IPS), SSP Shopian Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary (JKPS), besides gazetted officers and Station House Officers of the district.

Officials said the DGP assessed law and order preparedness, counter-terror grid functioning, crime control mechanisms, and security arrangements for Republic Day events. He called for heightened alertness, foolproof deployment plans, stronger intelligence coordination and intensified area domination to ensure incident-free celebrations.

Reviewing ongoing counter-terror operations, the DGP directed officers to act firmly against elements seeking to disturb peace and stability. He reiterated the policy of zero tolerance towards activities detrimental to national security.

While stressing sustained operations against militant networks, Prabhat also underlined the importance of public-friendly policing, professionalism, and maintaining a secure environment for residents of Shopian.
