YSS’s Amirakadal zone clinches U-19 inter-zonal football title

Srinagar, Jul 16: The District Youth Services and Sports Office Srinagar successfully conducted the Inter-Zonal Football Tournament for boys under 19 years at the Polo Ground, Srinagar, with Zone Amirakadal emerging as champions of the under-19 Inter-Zonal/District Level Football Tournament, defeating Zone Batamaloo 4-3 in a tense penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time at Polo Ground here on Wednesday.

As per a statement issued on Wednesday, the spirited event witnessed participation from all eight sports zones of Srinagar, making it a vibrant display of young talent and competitive sportsmanship.

The District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Srinagar, Ghulam Hassan Lone, graced the occasion and distributed trophies among the winning teams.

Senior officials from the department were also present and expressed their appreciation for the talent on display.

Lone congratulated the players for their remarkable performances throughout the tournament and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in sports.

The tournament not only highlighted the budding football talent in the region but also served as a platform to foster unity and healthy competition among youth from different zones.
