Youth killed, two others injured in Kupwara road accident

Srinagar, Nov 23: A 25-year-old youth was killed and two others sustained injuries in a road accident in Bumhama area of Kupwara on Sunday evening.

Officials told GNS, that the fatal collision between a motorcycle and an SUV (Mahindra XUV700), resulted in death of Faizan Ahmad Peer (25), son of Mohammed Ashraf Peer, a resident of Chek Drugmulla.

The injured include Asrar Ahmad Shah, son of Mohammed Shafi Shah; and Manzoor Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar, both residents of Chek Drugmulla. They were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara for treatment, from where Asrar Ahmad Shah was referred to a Srinagar-based hospital for advanced care.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident.
