Xiaomi has just announced its latest tablet offering in China called the Pad 7S Pro. The Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro is a successor to the previous Pad 6S Pro model but has a slightly different design and some new hardware. The Pad 7S Pro is placed between the Pad 7 Ultra and the previously launched Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro and so will appeal to the latter and Pad 6S Pro users alike. The highlight of this year’s model is the use of Xiaomi’s own silicon, which is in the form of its recently announced Xring O1 processor. Still, there are some minor upgrades sprinkled all over.
The Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro is priced from CNY 3,300 (roughly Rs. 39,000) for the base 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. Since this is a ‘Pro’ model, there are a number of variants available with 8GB, 12GB and 16GB RAM with the most expensive option with 16GB RAM + 1TB storage available at CNY 4,500 (roughly Rs. 53,000). The tablet goes on sale today in China but there is no information from the brand about a global launch. The tablet will be available in four finishes—Black, Purple, Titanium Silver and Basalt Gray. There will also be a Matte Glass version that will be available only in the Black finish and 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB options.
Xiaomi’s Pad 7S Pro sports a slightly larger 12.5-inch IPS LCD panel which now has a higher resolution of 2,136 x 3,200 pixels set in a 3:2 aspect ratio that remains unchanged. The panel also offers up to 1,000 nit of peak brightness. There is a matte glass version of the tablet called ‘soft light’ as well which offers a matte screen protector.
The Pad 7S Pro is powered by Xiaomi’s own Xring O1 processor, which is fabricated using a 3nm process and offers a maximum clock speed of 3.4GHz. The tablet uses LPDDR5X RAM for the 8GB and 12GB variants, while the 16GB variant uses the LPDDR5T RAM. You get up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
At the back is a 50-megapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF. The front facing camera is a 32-megapixel unit with an f/2.2 aperture. The Pad 7S Pro runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 software that is based on Android 15. All of the above is backed by a 10,610mAh battery that offers 120W wired charging and 7.5W reverse wired charging. As for communication, there is a USB type-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 1), Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
Like the previous model, the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro comes with its own set of optional accessories, which include Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro Focus Keyboard, Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro Keyboard, Xiaomi Focus Pen, and Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro Cover. The tablet has grown slimmer and now has a thickness of 5.8mm versus the 6.3mm of the Pad 6S Pro. Its overall dimensions have also grown to 279 x 192 x 5.8mm. It is also lighter than the Pad 6S Pro at 576g.
