Wild Bear Captured in South Kashmir’s Tral | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Wildlife authorities in south Kashmir successfully captured a wild bear that had been roaming the Rajpora area of Tral, following reports of a collision with a vehicle that left the animal injured, officials said.

Mohd Yousuf, a wildlife official, told Kashmir Life that the bear’s condition was serious after the accident and it was immediately referred for treatment at a nearby facility. The bear was first tranquilised to ensure its safety and that of local residents before being transported.

“The operation was carried out carefully to avoid harm to the animal or the public,” Yousuf said, adding that authorities are monitoring its recovery closely.

Meanwhile, the Wildlife Department has urged residents to remain cautious and report any wildlife sightings near human settlements to prevent accidents and ensure timely intervention.
