Weather Advisory Prompts Ban on School Picnics till Sept 11

SRINAGAR: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Anantnag on Tuesday cancelled all permissions earlier granted for school picnics and excursions in the district, following an adverse weather advisory issued by the Department of Metrology.

According to the official order, all scheduled school trips till September 11, 2025, stand cancelled with immediate effect. The circular directed that the order be implemented in “letter and spirit” by all concerned.

The order has been communicated to the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Director School Education Kashmir, Principals of higher secondary schools, Zonal Education Officers, headmasters of high schools, and private schools for strict compliance.

The decision was taken as a precautionary measure in view of the inclement weather conditions forecast for the coming days. (KNC)
