GULMARG, Aug 11: Vikramaditya Singh, Trustee of the J&K Dharmarth Trust, along with Yuvrani Chitrangada Raje Singh, today performed the Pran-Pratishtha of the recently reconstructed ancient Shiv Temple, popularly known as the Maharani Temple in Gulmarg, restoring it to even greater glory.

With the blessings of Dr. Karan Singh, Chairman Trustee, J&K Dharmarth Trust, the historic temple—an iconic landmark of Gulmarg’s spiritual, tourism and cultural heritage—has risen once again after suffering extensive damage in a devastating fire in March, 2024. Rebuilt with meticulous care and devotion, the temple was given a soft inauguration in December last year. Today’s Pran-Pratishtha was performed with full traditional rituals and sacred ceremonies breathing life into the newly created and installed idols of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati.

ADGP CID J&K, Sh. Nitish Kumar, IPS, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and lauded the role of the Dharmarth Trust in safeguarding the religious and cultural legacy of Jammu & Kashmir. He also appreciated the personal commitment and dedication of Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh and Yuvrani Chitrangada Raje towards reconstructing and restoring this iconic Temple.

Speaking on the occasion, Vikramaditya Singh said, “The Dharmarth Trust is committed to preserving the rich spiritual heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. The rebuilding of the Maharani Temple stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to restoring and maintaining sacred sites for devotees.”

The Trustee expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Lt. Governor Shri Manoj Sinha for his continued encouragement and the local administration for their support in the reconstruction efforts. He further emphasized that the Trust remains steadfast in its mission to restore and maintain temples across the Union Territory, ensuring that their sanctity and historical significance are preserved for generations to come.

On the occasion, Dr. P.S. Pathania, President J&K Dharmarth Trust, along with other senior officials of the Trust, were also present.
