Vigil intensified in Rajouri amid security alert

Rajouri, Dec 18: In the wake of the Udhampur encounter, in which a Police cop was killed while two others were injured, security agencies have issued a high alert across Jammu and Kashmir, directing all forces to maintain maximum operational preparedness to swiftly counter any terror threat.

As part of these enhanced security measures, vigilance has been significantly stepped up in Rajouri district. Security forces have intensified area domination and increased aggressive patrolling across sensitive and vulnerable locations to prevent any untoward incident.

Teams of the Special Operations Group (SoG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police along with the Indian Army, CRPF are conducting regular and extensive area domination patrols, strengthening the security grid and ensuring a heightened vigil to maintain peace and public safety in the region.

In Rajouri district, which is located on LoC, there are a number of sensitive infiltration points as well as sensitive hinterland areas.

Special teams of forces are carrying out aggressive area domination patrols as well as precautionary search operations in the sensitive locations in order to ensure heightened vigil.
