Kupwara: Vice Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir, Thursday conducted an extensive visit to Darpora and Margi A, B, and C to review ongoing development works and interact with local delegations.
During the visit, the Vice Chairman inspected the site of a major renovation and upgradation project for the Nallah Kul Pakhor, being executed under the MGNREGA 2026 scheme with an approved budget of ₹50 lakh. The project falls under the jurisdiction of DDC K/VC 2026 in Darpora A, B, and C.
He was accompanied by Additional Commissioner Development (ACD) Kupwara, Muzaffar Ahmad (JKAS), Block Development Officer (BDO) Sogam Sheikh Ab Rasheed, concerned Junior Engineers, and Panchayat Secretaries.
Several public delegations met with the Vice Chairman and apprised him of local issues and developmental demands. He assured timely redressal and emphasized the need for transparent and accelerated implementation of works under MGNREGA.
Later, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir chaired a meeting with the ACD Kupwara, BDO Sogam, and other concerned officials. He directed them to expedite the completion of the long-pending works under the ₹50 lakh MGNREGA project and ensure timely execution for the benefit of the people.
