Srinagar: Eminent poet, writer, critic, and veteran broadcaster Zahid Mukhtar passed away at his residence in Nayee Basti, Anantnag, on Thursday morning, leaving behind a rich legacy in literature, art, and media. He was among the most respected figures in Kashmir’s literary and broadcasting circles.

Mukhtar, as per reports, breathed his last at around 7:30 a.m. at his home. His demise has triggered an outpouring of grief and condolences from writers, journalists, and cultural figures across Jammu and Kashmir, who described his passing as an irreparable loss to the region’s intellectual and artistic community.
