SRINAGAR: The District Magistrate (DM) Kishtwar on Friday ordered suspension of vehicular movement along the Kishtwar–Dul Road at KM 8.50, near the RR Camp, to facilitate the blasting of a massive boulder that had blocked the road after torrential rains earlier this month.
According to the order issued by DM Pankaj Kumar Sharma, traffic on the stretch will remain suspended on September 13 between 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm to ensure safe execution of the blasting operation. The exercise, scheduled by the concerned agency, aims to restore smooth movement of heavy vehicles along the route.
The Officer Commanding, 118 RCC (GREF), has been directed to complete the operation within the stipulated time and adopt all necessary safety measures. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, will oversee strict enforcement of the order.
The DM also instructed the District Information Officer to give wide publicity to the restriction through print, electronic, and social media so that commuters can plan their travel accordingly. (KNC)
