
SRINAGAR: The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gurez on Saturday ordered the suspension of vehicular movement on the Gurez–Bandipora road in view of adverse weather conditions and an unfavourable forecast.
According to an official order issued by SDM Gurez, Mukhtar Ahmad Ahanger reads that vehicular traffic has been suspended from 4:00 PM today as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety.
The order directs the Station House Officers of Police Station Gurez and Pethkoot, along with the In-Charge Police Post Izmarg, to strictly enforce the restriction and not allow any vehicle to move from Gurez to Bandipora or vice versa after the cut-off time.
“The general public is advised to cooperate and avoid unnecessary travel during this period,” the order reads, adding that the restrictions will remain in force until further instructions are issued.
Authorities have urged commuters to remain vigilant and follow official advisories in view of changing weather conditions. (KDC)
