SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir’s Lok Bhavan hosted the Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day celebrations on Saturday, with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressing the gathering.

LG Sinha extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of Uttar Pradesh, paying tribute to the state’s luminaries, freedom fighters, and revolutionaries, and acknowledging their role in shaping modern India.

Highlighting the state’s cultural and spiritual heritage, LG Sinha described Uttar Pradesh as India’s heartland, the cradle of major scriptures including the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Puranas. “Uttar Pradesh represents a wellspring that has nurtured the country’s cultural consciousness,” he said.

He further noted that the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers makes the region a sacred center of spirituality and cultural heritage, offering timeless wisdom to humanity.

LG Sinha emphasized Uttar Pradesh’s role as India’s vital core, uniting the nation across all regions, and highlighted the teachings of its spiritual luminaries on self-realization as guidance for contemporary life.

He also commended the state’s recent development trajectory and expressed hope that Uttar Pradesh continues to achieve greater economic growth and prosperity.

The event was attended by Anoop Pradhan, Member of Parliament from Hathras, senior government officials, students, and residents of Uttar Pradesh living in the Union Territory.
