The selection process for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026 includes the following stages:
Preliminary Examination consists of two objective-type papers.

Paper II is qualifying in nature with a minimum of 33 percent marks.
The Main Examination consists of 9 papers, out of which 7 are counted for merit. Total written marks are 1750.
Interview carries 275 marks, making the total merit marks 2025.
