Ujala Cygnus in partnership with Amandeep Br Medicity conducts colonic SEMS procedure

Srinagar, Mar 25: Ujala Cygnus in partnership with Amandeep Br Medicity has achieved a significant medical milestone with the successful treatment of a patient with colonic obstruction using Colonic Self-Expanding Metal Stent (SEMS) placement at the hepatic flexure.

As per a press release, this rare and complex procedure, possibly the first of its kind in Kashmir and amongst all branches of Ujala Amandeep chain, was performed by a team of expert gastroenterologists and medical professionals led by Dr Wahid Akbar, Consultant Gastroenterologist, at Amandeep Br Medicity.

The patient was discharged after a successful procedure that avoided the need for two possible surgeries. The team, comprising Dr Sheikh Zahoor Consultant Surgical Oncology & Dr Syed Dawood Consultant Surgical Oncology , Dr Danish Consultant Radiology, and the anesthesia and supporting staff, worked together to achieve this remarkable outcome.
