
SRINAGAR: Two army personnel, Subedar Perbhat Gaur and Lance Naik Narender Sindhu, were killed in an ongoing encounter with militants in the Guddar area of Kulgam, the army confirmed on Monday.

Chinar Corps, in a statement on X, honoured the “supreme sacrifice” of the two soldiers, stating that their “courage and dedication will forever inspire us.” The army expressed its condolences and assured the bereaved families of its solidarity.
The operation, launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of militants in the area, is still underway. Officials said further details will be shared once the operation concludes.
Earlier, one militant was killed while three army soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer, were injured in the gunfight.
