SRINAGAR: Two civilians were injured on Saturday late evening after a fire broke out in a two-storey commercial building near Lattar Masjid in the Safa Kadal area of Srinagar, officials said.
“Fire was reported at 9:43 PM, and fire tenders from nearby stations and the Srinagar headquarters were rushed to the spot within minutes. According to initial reports, the fire affected a room in the building that housed a medical store. The blaze was later brought under control,” officials said.
Two civilians sustained minor injuries in the incident and were shifted to hospital for treatment.
They were identified as Farooq Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Ashraf Wani, a resident of Noorshah Colony Sadapora, and Kaiser Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat, a resident of Shah Humdan Colony Eidgah.
“The situation is under control,” the official added. (KNO)
