Two Held With Weapons in Jammu Kashmir Village

SRINAGAR: Police late last night carried out a raid in Mandi area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the arrest of two persons and recovery of weapons.

Official sources said that, Additional SP Poonch along with Mandi Police raided the house of one Tariq Sheikh, son of Habibullah, resident of Azamabad, PS Mandi. During the raid, another person identified as Riaz Ahmed, son of Farooq Ahmed, resident of Chamber, was also apprehended.

They said the duo was later taken to Jallian village in Mandi, where police searched a rented room of Tariq Sheikh at the house of Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Ziaudin. During the search, two weapons were recovered.

Both persons along with the recoveries have been shifted to Poonch by police for further investigation. More details are awaited. (KNC)
