Two Arrested for Gambling in North Kashmir, Cash Seized

SRINAGAR: Continuing its crackdown against social evils, police in Baramulla have arrested two individuals for their involvement in gambling activities in the Tangmarg area.

Acting on credible information, a police team from Police Station Tangmarg conducted a swift raid at Shrai Nallah, near Government School, where the duo was found indulging in gambling. They have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Malla, son of Ayaz Ahmad Malla, resident of Kunzer, Ward No. 06, and Zahoor Ahmad Reshi, son of Gh Mohammad Reshi, resident of Pariswani, Kunzer.

During the search, police recovered 52 playing cards and cash amounting to Rs 4,200 from their possession. Accordingly, a case under Section 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg, and further investigation is in progress.

Jammu and Kashmir Police seek continued cooperation from the public in maintaining peace and tranquillity in the district.
