Ramban, August 12: Twelve tourists from Uttar Pradesh were injured on Tuesday after a tempo traveller skidded off the road and fell into a roadside culvert in Ramban district.
Officials told that the tempo traveller (JK14K-9538) was travelling from Katra in Jammu to Srinagar when the driver lost control near Dalwas area, causing the vehicle to plunge into the culvert.
They said that soon after the mishap, personnel of 84 Battalion CRPF reached the spot and launched rescue operations with the help of locals.
Five of the injured, who sustained serious injuries, were immediately shifted to District Hospital Ramban, while seven others, including children, with minor injuries were also taken to the hospital for treatment, they said.
Authorities said the condition of all injured is stable, and further legal proceedings have been initiated. (KNC)
