Tulmulla residents voice anger over long-neglected roads

Ganderbal, Apr 8: Residents of Bunpora, Hyderia Colony and the surrounding areas of Tulmulla area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have complained about severely damaged roads filled with potholes and significant waterlogging.

According to the residents of the Bunpora, Hyderia colony, they are facing immense hardships due to the dilapidated road conditions in their areas. The locals expressed anger over the severely deteriorated condition of their link roads, which they claim has remained unrepaired and non macadamised for several years now.

Ishfaq Ahmad, a civil society member said that the numerous deep potholes create significant difficulties for both vehicles and pedestrians navigating through this densely populated residential areas. “The link roads have been in a deplorable condition for years, and no government agency has addressed the issue despite our repeated pleas. The road serves a congested residential area where hundreds of households suffer daily because of its poor state,” said a resident of Hyderia colony Tulmulla. Residents report that they have repeatedly urged authorities to either blacktop the road to provide some relief from the hazardous conditions. ” elderly people and children face extreme difficulty when going for prayers and school.

The poor road condition also causes significant waterlogging during rainy seasons, compounding our problems and occasionally making the road completely impassable,” explained another resident. The residents urged the concerned authorities to take necessary measures to redress this problem.
