Tributes Paid to Bravehearts as Shopian Police Observe Commemoration Day – Alfaaz – The Words

Shopian: Police Commemoration Day–2025 was observed with solemn pride and deep respect at the District Police Lines (DPL) Shopian, where officers and personnel gathered to honour the brave police martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The commemorative event was marked by a ceremonial parade featuring contingents of the District Police Shopian and the CRPF. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, took the salute and led the homage ceremony. The names of the fallen personnel were read out, followed by a two-minute silence observed in their memory.

In his address, SSP Choudhary reflected on the significance of the day, emphasizing that it serves as a reminder of the courage, commitment, and selfless service of police personnel across the nation. He said that their sacrifices form the cornerstone of public safety and national integrity. “Their bravery continues to inspire every member of the force to uphold the values of dedication and duty,” he noted, adding that various commemorative events are being held across the Valley to honour the martyrs.

The observance also included a wreath-laying ceremony, where SSP Shopian, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, officers from the Police, CRPF, and Army, along with the families of the martyrs, offered floral tributes.

As part of the day’s proceedings, gifts were distributed among the Next of Kin (NoKs) of the martyrs as a token of appreciation and remembrance. Later, SSP Choudhary interacted with the families of the fallen personnel, patiently hearing their concerns and assuring them of all possible support. He said that grievances related to the Police Department would be resolved on priority, while other issues would be taken up with the concerned civil authorities.

Reaffirming its commitment, the Shopian Police stated that it remains steadfast in its resolve to uphold the legacy of its martyrs and to stand by their families with continued care and respect.
