Sogam (Kupwara): In line with the directions of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, the Treasury Office Sogam has begun implementation of the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0 to encourage pensioners to submit their annual life certificates through the Jeevan Pramaan and Aadhaar Face RD mobile applications.

The official circular issued by the Treasury Officer, a copy of which lies with Alfaaz – The Words, says that although Jammu and Kashmir has around 2.50 lakh pensioners, only around 4,500 currently use the digital mode for certification. The government is therefore pushing for wider adoption of DLCs to avoid long queues at treasuries and banks, and to ensure a smoother continuation of monthly pension payments.

The circular explains that once installed, the apps allow biometric authentication through face recognition and enable automatic generation of the life certificate, eliminating the need for physical visits. A step-by-step procedure has been shared for pensioners to complete the process, including the Downloading Aadhaar Face RD (Early Access) and then the Jeevan Pramaan App from the Play Store; Authenticating via Aadhaar, mobile number and OTP; Completing the Face Scan; Entering pension and PPO details; and Downloading the certificate from jeevanpramaan.gov.in using the Jeevan Pramaan ID.

To make the transition easier for elderly pensioners, the government has tied up with J&K Bank, and designated Banking Correspondents will provide free assistance in installing the apps and generating DLCs.

In the Sogam subdivision, assistance will be available at different points including; Aqib Rasheed Peer 7006821650 at Sogam; Irfan Ahmad 9149805916 at Dever; Mudasir Ahmad 9541222702 at Wavoora; Suhail Ahmad 9797877882 Kuligam; and Javeed Ahmad 9797153569 at Lalpora.

The Treasury Office has advised pensioners in the Sogam area to take advantage of the digital facilities to save time and avoid repeated visits to treasury or bank branches.

Officials have in the meantime also encouraged pensioners facing difficulty in self-installation to contact the nearest banking correspondent for on-ground support.
