Traffic Advisory Issued for Kashmir Marathon 2025 in Srinagar on November 2

SRINAGAR: The Srinagar Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory for Sunday, November 2, 2025, in view of the 2nd Edition of the “Kashmir Marathon-2025” being organized by the Jammu Kashmir Tourism Department.

A large number of participants from across Jammu Kashmir are expected to take part in the event. To ensure smooth movement and avoid traffic congestion, specific restrictions and diversions have been announced for various city routes.

As per the advisory, traffic movement will remain restricted from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM on major city roads including Residency Road, M.A. Road, Boulevard Road, Foreshore Road, Gupkar Road, and adjoining areas.

Key points of the advisory include:

No traffic movement on Residency Road from Radio Kashmir crossing to Polo View between 5:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Traffic restrictions on MA Road from Budshah Chowk to Dalgate and Nehru Park between 5:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

Foreshore and Nishat routes up to Kashmir University (Sir Syed Gate) to remain closed till 1:00 PM.

Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) will not be allowed on the marathon routes after 8:00 PM on November 1, 2025.

Motorists from Harwan, Shalimar, Nishat, and Brein have been advised to use the Burzahama–Zakura–Habbak–Naseembagh route, while those from Ganderbal/Nagbal heading towards Lal Chowk may take the 90 Feet Road (Soura route).

The traffic police has urged citizens to plan their journeys accordingly and avoid unnecessary movement on marathon routes during the event hours. Emergency vehicles, however, will be allowed to take the shortest available routes.
