Tourist dies of suspected heart attack in south Kashmir

Anantnag, Jan 17: A 26-year-old tourist died after reportedly suffering a suspected heart attack while travelling towards Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, officials said.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that a private tourist vehicle, bearing registration number from outside the UT, was en route from Srinagar to Pahalgam when it halted at Badrian, Aishmuqam, after one of the passengers suddenly fell unconscious.

The tourist was identified as Sahil, son of Jai Bhagwan, a resident of Lakhan Majra, Rohtak, Haryana. He was immediately evacuated to Seer Hamdan Hospital, Mattan, where the attending doctors declared him brought dead, he said.

The death is suspected to have been caused by a heart attack, while further medico-legal formalities are being carried out.
