Cumulatively, commercial vehicles generated Rs 936.34 crore in toll revenue in Jammu and Kashmir over the three years, while non-commercial vehicles contributed Rs 451.62 crore, highlighting the dominant role of freight carriers, trucks and buses in highway toll inflows in the Union Territory.

The data was shared in Parliament during a reply related to the FASTag Annual Pass system. The Ministry clarified that tolls are levied on the basis of vehicle classification rather than ownership, with VC-04 covering light vehicles such as cars, jeeps and vans, and Non-VC-04 including heavier commercial vehicles. It also stated that toll collections and FASTag usage are monitored through the National Electronic Toll Collection platform, supported by VAHAN and NPCI verification systems to ensure transparency and prevent misuse.
