Srinagar: Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Istiqlal, Ghulam Nabi Sufi, has strongly condemned the recent car blast near the Red Fort in Delhi, terming it a cowardly and inhuman act and an attack on the very spirit of peace and humanity.

In a statement issued here, Sufi expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the tragic incident, saying that such acts of terror “serve no cause except spreading fear and hatred.” He said the blast was not merely an attack on the people of Delhi but an assault on humanity itself.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to all the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured,” Sufi said, urging society to stand united against violence and hatred. “We must respond to such brutality with courage, compassion, and a stronger commitment to peace.”

He added that the people of Jammu and Kashmir, having long been victims of violence, deeply empathize with those affected by the Delhi tragedy.

It may be recalled that Ghulam Nabi Sufi, who heads the Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Istiqlal, had earlier this year distanced himself and his party from all Hurriyat factions and the separatist ideology, declaring full allegiance to the Constitution of India. He has maintained that neither he nor his organization has ever been part of any activity detrimental to the interests of the nation.
