Teenager Killed in Lightning Strike in South Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A teenage boy was killed after being struck by lightning in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.

Officials said that the deceased has been identified as Dilawar Ahmad Bhokad, son of Mohd Sardar Bhokad, a resident of Soin Wangam, Kokernag.

They said the 16-year-old was struck by lightning at Nawkhan near Margan Top, leading to his instant death.

Authorities have taken cognisance of the incident, while locals have been urged to exercise caution in hilly and open areas during thunderstorms. (KNC)
