Teen Killed, Several Injured After Sumo Plunges into Nallah in Kupwara

Kupwara: A teenager lost his life while several others were injured after a Tata Sumo skidded off the road and fell into a nallah at Manigah Haihama area of Kupwara district on Monday.

Officials told Alfaaz – The Words that a vehicle bearing registration number UP-16ET-8079, driven by Mohammad Ashraf Khan lost control and veered off the road before plunging into the nallah in Manigah.

In the mishap, the driver and other occupants sustained injuries and were shifted to Sub-District Hospital Kupwara for treatment. One of the passengers, Zahid Ahmad Mughal (19), son of Abdul Majeed Mughal and a resident of Manigah, was declared brought dead at the hospital.

The evacuation was jointly carried out by Indian Army and locals.
