Srinagar, Aug 16: In a significant development aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety and easing commuter movement, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah sanctioned the construction of an overhead pedestrian pathway at SKIMS Chowk in the Zadibal constituency, said a press release. The proposal was put forth by Chief Spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq.
The Rs 50 lakh project, a long-pending demand of the local population, will greatly benefit commuters, patients, their attendants, and the general public while crossing the bustling intersection that links Nowshera, Bolochipura, and Naribal (Soura side).
Sadiq expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for approving the proposal and reiterated his commitment to improving civic infrastructure.
Sadiq visited the site along with the Director SKIMS, Executive Engineer, and other concerned officials to inspect and review the plan.
