Tanvir Sadiq bats for stronger sports culture in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 21: Chief Spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, on Saturday attended the closing and prize distribution ceremony of the Kashmir Open Badminton Championship 2025 at Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, Srinagar.

Speaking as the chief guest, Sadiq, as per a statement, commended the enthusiasm of young athletes and reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering a vibrant sports culture in the region.

Sadiq expressed his delight in witnessing the energy and determination of young athletes, both boys and girls, participating with such passion and discipline. He applauded the District Srinagar Badminton Association for nurturing talent and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the youth.

“When our children say no to drugs and yes to sports, they shine brighter, just like today. This is the Kashmir we are proud of,” he said.

Sadiq also highlighted the unwavering support of the government in building a robust sports culture. “Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s government, under the dynamic Minister Satish Sharma, is committed to promoting sports,” he said.
